The unique challenge of Jamie & David’s kitchen remodel was opening up a compartmentalized kitchen space to create a great room feel adjoining the living, dining and foyer areas. Our team removed two major walls in order to do so and created a custom island flanked by columns with liquid metal painted finish. We mixed this finish with a clean, bright white on the remaining cabinetry and juxtaposed it with a dark, wide-plank, hand-scraped espresso floor to achieve the high contrast palette that transmits the clean, modern feel that Jamie and David wanted to achieve. Gary Luke, The Town Carpenter, really helped make the project what it is with his beautifully crafted, solid wood cabinetry. Ed Torrence’s flooring selections courtesy of Carpet Direct also played a key role. From a design perspective, it offered a perfect opportunity for us to combine our signature boutique hotel style with the elevated quality of life provided by generous storage, thoughtful layout, and updated appliances.
